Simple roasted cabbage wedges coated in garlic butter and Parmesan cheese. This recipe cooks quickly and results in tender, flavorful cabbage.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium head green cabbage
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Remove any loose outer leaves from the cabbage. Cut the cabbage head into 8 equal wedges, keeping the core intact to hold the leaves together.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, melted butter, and minced garlic.
  4. Place the cabbage wedges on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over all sides of the wedges.
  5. Sprinkle the salt and pepper over the wedges.
  6. Roast for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top of each wedge.
  8. Return the cabbage to the oven and roast for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and lightly golden brown and the cabbage is tender.
  9. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley if you use it, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute avocado oil for olive oil if you prefer.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture before brushing.
  • If you do not have fresh parsley, dried parsley works as a garnish.
