Ingredients
Scale
1 pound cooked, shredded chicken
1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, sealing any perforations. Bake the crust for 8 minutes. Remove from the oven.
While the crust bakes, mix the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, milk, sour cream, onion powder, and pepper in a medium bowl until combined.
Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the partially baked crust.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the chicken mixture.
Return the casserole to the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the filling is heated through.
Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before cutting and serving.
Notes
You can use leftover rotisserie chicken for quick preparation.
For a richer flavor, substitute cream of mushroom soup for cream of chicken soup.
If you prefer a crispier top, add a light sprinkle of paprika before the final bake.
