Make this easy, creamy chicken spaghetti casserole for a satisfying family dinner. This recipe uses simple ingredients for a comforting baked pasta dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound spaghetti noodles
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, plus extra for topping
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain well.
  3. While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and celery and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, milk, sour cream, shredded cheese, parsley, pepper, and salt into the skillet. Heat the mixture until it is warm and smooth. Do not boil.
  5. Add the shredded chicken and the cooked spaghetti to the sauce mixture. Stir gently until everything is evenly coated.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the top evenly with extra shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese on top is melted and lightly browned.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use homemade cream of chicken soup instead of canned.
  • You can substitute egg noodles for spaghetti if you prefer a Southern style texture.
  • Shredded rotisserie chicken works well for quick preparation.
