Make this quick, high-protein coffee smoothie for an energizing breakfast or mid-day pick-me-up. It uses frozen banana for creaminess and cold brew for a strong coffee flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cold brew coffee, strong and chilled
  • 1 medium frozen banana, broken into chunks
  • 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder (for mocha flavor, optional)
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)

Instructions

  1. Pour the cold brew coffee and almond milk into your blender.
  2. Add the frozen banana chunks, protein powder, and any optional additions like peanut butter or cocoa powder.
  3. Add the ice cubes last.
  4. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides once.
  5. Pour immediately into a glass and serve.

Notes

  • For a make-ahead option, freeze the coffee in ice cube trays and use those instead of liquid coffee and ice.
  • If you prefer a lower-calorie option, omit the peanut butter.
  • Adjust the liquid amount slightly if you prefer a thicker or thinner consistency.
