Make a quick, light, and fluffy frosting using only whipped topping and powdered sugar. This recipe sets fast and works well on cakes and cupcakes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 container (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Place the thawed whipped topping into a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  3. Add the vanilla extract.
  4. Increase the mixer speed to medium-high and beat for about 2 minutes until the frosting is smooth and holds soft peaks.
  5. Use immediately to frost your cooled cake or cupcakes.

Notes

  • For a thicker frosting, add an extra half cup of powdered sugar slowly.
  • If the frosting seems too soft, chill it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes before spreading.
  • To flavor, add 1 tablespoon of instant pudding mix along with the sugar.
