Make a rich and satisfying creamy beef pasta in one pot in under 30 minutes. This recipe uses ground beef and a simple garlic Parmesan sauce for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 8 ounces dry pasta (penne or rotini work well)
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the chopped onion to the pot with the beef and cook until softened, about 4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the beef broth. Add the dry pasta, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom. The liquid should mostly be absorbed and the pasta cooked through.
  6. Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • You can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream for a slightly lighter sauce.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
  • If the sauce seems too thick after adding the cream, add a splash of milk or extra broth to reach your desired consistency.
