Make this rich, decadent chocolate fudge pie that tastes like a warm brownie baked in a crust. This recipe is quick and delivers a melt-in-your-mouth texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the unbaked pie crust on a baking sheet.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs.
  5. Pour the milk and egg mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract and chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter evenly into the unbaked pie crust.
  8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the center is mostly set but still slightly soft. The pie will firm up as it cools.
  9. Let the pie cool on a wire rack for at least 1 hour before slicing.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature, often with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • For an extra gooey center, reduce the baking time by 3 to 5 minutes.
  • You can use a pre-made graham cracker crust for a quicker preparation.
  • This pie tastes best when served the day it is made.
