Make these simple, sticky Honey Garlic Chicken Bites for a quick meal or appetizer. The chicken pieces cook quickly and coat well in the sweet and savory glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water (slurry)
  • Optional: Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the cut chicken pieces in a bowl. Season lightly with pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and ginger. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Whisk the cornstarch slurry until smooth, then slowly pour it into the simmering sauce while stirring constantly. Continue to cook until the sauce thickens into a glaze, about 1 minute.
  6. Return the cooked chicken bites to the skillet. Toss gently until every piece is fully coated with the honey garlic glaze.
  7. Remove from heat. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For crispier bites, you can lightly dust the raw chicken pieces with flour before pan-frying.
  • If you prefer an oven-baked method, bake the seasoned chicken pieces at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes, then toss with the prepared glaze and bake for 5 more minutes.
  • You can substitute low-sodium soy sauce if you are watching your salt intake.
