Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon dried thyme
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a baking dish.
Pat the chicken breasts dry. Rub them with olive oil, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Place the chicken in the prepared baking dish.
In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, heavy whipping cream, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, parsley, and thyme. Mix until the sauce is smooth.
Spoon the creamy garlic herb mixture evenly over the top of each chicken breast.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius) and the topping is lightly golden.
Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
You can substitute the Italian seasoning with your favorite blend of dried herbs like rosemary and oregano.
For extra richness, add 2 ounces of Boursin cheese to the sauce mixture instead of some of the Parmesan.
If the sauce starts to brown too quickly during baking, loosely cover the dish with aluminum foil for the last 10 minutes.
