Follow these steps to roast Brussels sprouts until crispy and toss them with Parmesan cheese for a flavorful side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lb Brussels sprouts
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
  2. Trim the ends off the Brussels sprouts and remove any loose or yellow outer leaves. Cut the sprouts in half lengthwise.
  3. Place the trimmed sprouts on a large baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and toss until all sprouts are evenly coated.
  4. Spread the sprouts in a single layer on the baking sheet. Do not overcrowd the pan; use two sheets if necessary for crispier results.
  5. Roast for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove the pan from the oven. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the sprouts.
  7. Return the pan to the oven and roast for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the sprouts are tender and the cheese is golden brown and slightly crisp.
  8. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, toss the roasted sprouts with 1 teaspoon of balsamic vinegar after removing them from the oven.
  • If you prefer very crispy sprouts, roast them for the first 20 minutes without the cheese, then toss them with the cheese and roast for the final 10 minutes.
  • If you have an air fryer, you can cook these at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes, adding the cheese for the last 3 minutes of cooking time.
