Make savory, restaurant-style pan fried noodles quickly using a simple soy sauce base. This recipe is ready in under 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz dried egg noodles or ramen noodles
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup sliced carrots
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce (for color)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles according to package directions until just tender. Drain them well and set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the hot oil. Stir fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the cabbage and carrots to the skillet. Stir fry for 2 to 3 minutes until the vegetables begin to soften.
  5. Add the cooked, drained noodles to the skillet. Toss everything together.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar. Pour this sauce mixture over the noodles and vegetables.
  7. Stir fry everything constantly for 2 minutes, ensuring the noodles are evenly coated and heated through.
  8. Stir in the sliced green onions just before serving.

Notes

  • For extra protein, add cooked shrimp or sliced chicken during Step 4.
  • If you do not have dark soy sauce, use regular soy sauce, but the final color will be lighter.
  • Use fresh, thin noodles for the best texture in this quick fry.
