Make these satisfying chicken wraps featuring a sweet chili sauce coating and a crunchy Asian slaw for a flavor-packed meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 4 large flour tortillas or lettuce cups
  • 2 tablespoons crispy fried shallots (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic. Pour this mixture over the cooked chicken in the skillet. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken well, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. Prepare the slaw: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lime juice, and sesame oil until smooth. Add the shredded cabbage, carrots, and cilantro. Toss until the vegetables are lightly coated.
  4. Warm the tortillas according to package directions, if desired.
  5. To assemble, place a portion of the sweet chili chicken mixture down the center of each tortilla. Top the chicken with a generous amount of the Asian slaw.
  6. Sprinkle the crispy fried shallots over the slaw before rolling up the wrap tightly. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can prepare the sweet chili chicken filling up to one day ahead for quick assembly later.
  • For a spicier kick, add 1/2 teaspoon of sriracha to the sauce mixture.
  • Use large butter lettuce leaves instead of tortillas for a low-carb option.
