A simple recipe for a rich, flavorful white pizza using a creamy garlic and ricotta base instead of tomato sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven and pizza stone (if using) to 475 degrees Fahrenheit. If not using a stone, lightly grease a pizza pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, ricotta cheese, heavy cream, salt, and pepper until you have a smooth, creamy sauce.
  3. Stretch or roll your pizza dough into a 12 to 14-inch circle and place it on your prepared surface.
  4. Spread the creamy garlic-ricotta mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a one-inch border for the crust.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce layer.
  6. Bake for 10 to 14 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove the pizza from the oven. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
  8. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, let the dough rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before stretching.
  • You can brush the crust edges with melted butter mixed with a pinch of garlic powder before baking for extra flavor.
  • Use whole milk ricotta for the creamiest texture.
